Privacy
What we collect
- Posts and listings: the details and photos you submit, including the contact name and phone number you choose to show publicly.
- Cruelty reports: what you write and attach. Contact details only if you choose to give them. We do not store your IP address with a report.
- Sign-ups and messages: the details you enter.
- Accounts: your name, email, phone and region, and what you do with your account (saved pets, pet profiles, bookings, orders, applications, volunteering). Passwords are stored scrambled and nobody can read them.
- Orders, bookings and pledges: the details needed to complete them, shared with the store, pet-service provider or rescue involved. Guyana Paws does not take card payments; you pay them directly.
- Pet ID tags: your pet’s profile. Only what you choose to show appears when someone scans the tag; medical notes are never shown.
- Alerts: a technical address for your device and the areas you picked, so we can send notifications. Turn alerts off at any time on the alerts page.
Photos
Photos are re-saved when uploaded, which removes hidden data such as GPS location and camera details. Videos attached to cruelty reports are stored privately exactly as sent.
Who sees what
- Lost, found and adoption posts are public, including the contact details shown on them.
- Cruelty reports, directory submitter details, messages and sign-ups are visible only to Guyana Paws administrators. Report details may be shared with welfare organisations or authorities when needed to help an animal.
